Alan Cundall - General Manager
Alan joined Team Baraka in 2013 after years of working in education in Montreal, Canada. Alan is a skilled entertainer and has a keen sense of humour. He is also a stats man and knows everything there is to know about sports and no, he's not a Montreal Canadiens hockey fan - surprisingly he's a Toronto Maple Leafs fan.
When you don't find Alan up around Baraka - you'll find him running the steep roads of Gorda Peak. Feel free to join him for a morning run or hike. Alan is also helpful in coordinating kids activities, chartering boats or jetskis, taking guests out snorkeling and organizing the weekly Baraka tortoise races. We've got lots of activities to keep the kids busy so just ask and Alan will be happy to assist.
Corey Kidd - Maintenance & Bar Manager
Hailing from Vancouver, Canada, Corey moved to the BVIs with his girlfriend, Arianne, back in 2012 for the opening of CocoMaya Restaurant, Baraka Point's sister property on the beach in Spanish Town. As Bar Manager at CocoMaya, Corey created the many exotic cocktails on their menu. Not sure what to have for your pre-dinner cocktail? Just ask Corey, he has a repertoire of incredible drinks he'd be happy to mix for you.
Tommy Nolan - Chef
Padmonie Ramcharran - Housekeeper
Padmonie (Pad) is Baraka Point's housekeeper extraordinaire! Pad has been with Baraka Point for over nine years and is responsible for keeping the villa's interiors in tip top shape, the suites freshened up every morning, and your belongings folded and packed into organized bundles that are amazing to behold. Coming all the way from Guyana, Pad has a kind heart, is wonderful with kids, and quite arguably makes the best Dahl Purr in the BVIs! If you like West Indian cuisine she would be pleased to cook some of her specialities for you. Feel free to ask Padmonie if you need any personal laundry done, she is only too happy to help in any way she can.
Reynaldo Hugo - Carpenter
Reynaldo (Rey) will be seen from time to time up around the top of the property. His job is to keep the Iroko timber around Baraka Point in excellent condition. Rey is a genius with wood, creating anything from hand carvings to cabinetry. Rey comes from the Philippines and has been on Virgin Gorda longer than any other team member, a total of 25 years. Rey's great sporting passions are fishing, basketball and his native boxing hero Mani Paquio.
Bimple Victor - Gardener
In charge of our lush grounds, Victor (known by his last name) rejoined our team over a year ago, having worked here previously as a member of the landscaping company that designed and installed the gardens at Baraka Point. Originally from Guyana, Victor enjoys the time he spends in the garden and is especially fond of the vegetable and herb gardens we keep here to use in our cooking. If you want some fresh coconut water, let us know and we'll get Victor to crack one open for you. Oh, and be sure to thank Victor for his part in Pizza and Bonfire Night - he cuts the wood!
